Marcus Smart Heading To New York For Second Opinion On Thumb Injury

Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart is out indefinitely after reportedly suffering a torn tendon in his right thumb, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports. "[They're] waiting for that second opinion", the source said. "Don't know if it's a 50 percent chance or a 30 percent chance".

Smart injured his thumb during the Celtics' loss the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night (Monday, PHL time).

Irving was projected for 38.5 FanDuel points on Wednesday.

It's been a tumultuous season for the impending restricted free agent, who was unable to reach agreement on a contract extension with the team last fall.

Colts Among Finalists to Sign Guard Andrew Norwell
The Norwell signing comes as a bit of a surprise because the New York Giants were reportedly close to landing the top-rated guard. Free agent offensive guard Andrew Norwell is on the verge of a record-setting contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars .

Himmelsbach reported the situation "doesn't look good" for Smart.

Overall in his two years at Vanderbilt, Baldwin posted 11.6 points, 4.8 dimes, 4.1 boards and 1.3 steals per game.

Danny Ainge indicated that the Boston Celtics aren't going to rush Kyrie Irving back from injury in response to a growing list of sidelined players. Wojnarowski reports that the Celtics believe it is nothing more than knee tendonitis and that Irving is day-to-day and won't need to miss much time.

Al Horford, who missed the IN game because of an illness, was listed as questionable.
