MASKS CONTROVERSY : South African officials face action

Cricket South Africa commercial manager Clive Eksteen and head of media and communications Altaaf Khazi posed for a photo with three fans who were all wearing Sonny Bill Williams masks during the second Test.

During the course of play on the first day, a couple of CSA executives were photographed with the fans wearing masks, which indirectly related to the spat between Warner and De Kock.

There have been calls on social media for spectators to wear the masks following a row between Warner and South Africa's Quinton de Kock during the first Test, which Warner blamed was sparked when De Kock insulted his wife. "They said "let's take a photo with you guys", he said.

Williams and Warner's now wife, Candice Warner, were involved in a toilet tryst in 2007. However, CSA has now released a statement over the matter clearing that they want to distance themselves from the officials.

Two South African cricket officials have been snapped posing with fans wearing masks to taunt Australian opener David Warner as the battle between the two countries heats up. We let people in with Hashim Amla beards.

CSA President Chris Nenzani also weighed in on the matter: "On behalf of CSA I extend my honest apologies to the Board of Cricket Australia (CA), its officials, team management, players and their families".

Meghan also hugged another young girl waiting in line, and spoke with children who were patiently waiting to meet her. Sophia said: "He said, 'You need to be confident and you can achieve whatever you want to achieve'".

"On behalf of CSA I extend my honest apologies to the Board of Cricket Australia, its officials, team management, players and their families", CSA President Chris Nenzani was quoted as sating by ESPNcricinfo.

Warner and de Kock were both fined after their ugly bust-up in Durban and the two teams have been warned by the match referee to keep their tempers in check.

Australian newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald reported that the Australia team was "outraged" by the South African officials apparently condoning the masks.

"CSA has taken immediate precautionary steps against the officials allegedly involved in this incident", the statement read.

Off-field drama aside, Warner put in a solid first-innings display notching up 63 as Australia were bowled out for 243 on the first day of the second Test.
