Philips Hue Outdoor Smart Lights Coming in July

Back in January, Philips Hue announced it was working on outdoor smart lights ideally suited for patios, gardens, or balconies.

The company says that it will be offering three types of outdoor lights in the US and Europe in July ... Both models let you choose from 16 million colors.

Philips is taking its Hue smart lights outside with its new luminary, spot, and pillar post products. Simply add the outdoor lighting products to the Philips Hue bridge to extend your system and customize the lighting as you wish in the Philips Hue app.

"Our customers are always looking for new ways to extend their smart lighting system and the new Philips Hue outdoor range takes it a huge step further", Philips Lighting Home Systems and Luminaires Business Leader Sridhar Kumaraswamy said in a statement.

The Luminaires are meant to be attached to the side of the house near doors.

Spotlights such as the new Philips Hue Lily will be used to enhance key design features in gardens such as potted plans or flower beds.

With the Hue app, you can check and control your lights wherever you are, and schedule them to switch on and off at specific times.

The Philips Hue Calla (MSRP $129.99, 640 lumens) is flawless for path lighting.

The new range joins the same ecosystem and communicates via ZigBee using the Philips Hue Hub. The colour range boasts an impressive 16 million supported colours.

Less details are available for the Philips Hue White range however prices start from £62. The Calla bollard will retail for Dollars 129.99 / Euro 139.99 as base unit pack. The Hue line is also getting a PAR38 bulb that will slot into existing fixtures, with each bulb costing $29 and a double-pack available for $49.

Philips Lighting will be showcasing its new Philips Hue outdoor portfolio at Light+Building 2018, at the Philips Lighting booth in Hall 0: Forum. Phillips is hosting a press conference about its outdoor lights on Monday, March 19th.
