You Can Now Use My Nintendo Gold Points to Make eShop Purchases

The firm hasn't offered up any more information about the issue, but Reddit users have spied that "Nintendo's code is only looking for the day and month you last played the game and figuring out the time since then". These points are £2.50 in value and can be redeemed towards any game that you want to buy.

The My Nintendo program has been updated to allow users to cash in their My Nintendo Gold Points for Nintendo Switch games. Going forward, however, My Nintendo members will receive five Gold points for every $1 spent when purchasing a game or DLC from the Eshop or Nintendo's website. The points are awarded at a 5% rate and each point is worth one cent in US Dollars. So, if players are trying to rack up points, make sure to double check what the Nintendo eShop is selling the game for. It's important to note that physical purchases will only get you one percent of their Nintendo eShop price.

The fix should be an easy one for Nintendo as the total simply needs to take into account years as well as days and months.
