FBI Raids President's Personal Lawyer's Office And Home

On Monday, FBI agents raided the NY office of Michael Cohen, President Trump's personal attorney.

Asked if he was anxious, Cohen said: "I would be lying to you if I told that I am not".

Cohen wants Wood to let them or a "special master" review the seized materials to decide what can be turned over, without violating the right of his clients to shield communications with their lawyers.

A source familiar with the matter has said Federal Bureau of Investigation agents who conducted the raids were seeking information on payments to Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who also claims to have had a sexual relationship with Trump. Trump has said he didn't know about the payment. It's not unheard of to execute a search warrant on an attorney's office, but executing such a warrant on the personal attorney of the US president is something else altogether, perhaps even historic.

But they provided new details on the investigation, which they said has been going on for months.

Experts have said that attorney-client privileges are waived in conversations conducted in the further commission of a crime or fraud.

"It becomes an issue when they either exceed the limits on contributions that can be made to candidates or political parties or PACs, or when they are not properly disclosed", he explained.

A search warrant revealed the tape information was one target of the raid, according to three anonymous sources who spoke with the New York Times. Prosecutors would have had to convince a federal judge to conclude evidence of criminal activity could be found.

NEW YORK-There may be "tapes" after all. The raids were partly a referral by Mueller's office. His team reportedly referred the case to the Manhattan prosecutors as a local issue.

Golden State Warriors, 4-16
Remember, the Warriors constantly ranked among the better defensive teams during their multiple runs to the NBA Finals. No, not the Spurs, at least that's what the hunch and the outset of this first-round playoff series says.

Special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, is said to have had a hand in instigating the raids.

Among other items seized from Cohen were tax records, business documents, and electronic devices, according to the Times, who cited a person briefed on the search.

Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, is pleased with the feds' raid of Cohen's apartment.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders equated the effect of the investigation and Russia's support for Syrian dictator Bashar Assad. Some senators fear doing so could lead to a constitutional crisis.

Trump lashed out at the Federal Bureau of Investigation following the raid, calling it a "disgrace" and a "pure and simple witch hunt".

Federal agents raided Cohen's Manhattan office on Monday, seizing records on topics including a $130,000 payment made to porn actress Stormy Daniels.

Cohen "would be as damaging a witness against Donald Trump as any witness Mueller could secure".

Cohen has said neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was involved in the transaction with Daniels and he was not reimbursed for the payment. "He's recording it", one former campaign official said.

But he doubts Cohen can be compelled to betray his own client to "save his own skin". The White House press secretary said Tuesday that Trump "certainly believes he has the power to do so".
