Kellyanne Conway rips into James Comey in Monday morning interview

He also said Trump is a "person who sees moral equivalence in Charlottesville, who talks about and treats women like they're pieces of meat, who lies constantly".

Comey is promoting his new book, 'A Higher Loyalty'.

Comey also discussed the first time he met the newly elected Trump in person in January 2017 to talk about the allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 US election.

Sean Hannity, the most prominent conservative media personality of the Trump movement, was particularly upset about the line of questioning Comey received, believing it to be biased, and calling Stephanapolous an inappropriately sympathetic interviewer.

Trump tweeted: "The big questions in Comey's badly reviewed book aren't answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (why didn't they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe's $700,000 & more?".

Former FBI boss James Comey did not hold back as he broke his silence on Donald Trump in a revealing television interview.

Comey told ABC News that he knew the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server was going to present a "no-win situation" for him.

Still, he says it strikes him as unlikely, but something that he can't say without high confidence. "I don't know. These are more words I never thought I'd utter about a president of the United States, but it's possible".

Wholesale Inflation stands at 2.47% in March; manufacturing index rises
Wholesale prices climbed 2.47 percent year-over-year in March, nearly in line with February's 2.48 percent increase. However, the March 2018 inflation is higher than 3.89 per cent recorded in the same month a year ago .

I hope not because I think impeaching and removing Donald Trump from office would let the American people off the hook and have something happen indirectly that I believe they're duty bound to do directly. "My loyalty's supposed to be to the American people and to the institution", Comey said in the interview.

The network flashed a photo of Patrice and the Comey daughters taking part in the march that drew hundreds of thousands of protesters the day after Trump's inauguration. "It was important to tell the email story because it's me trying to figure out how to lead well", he said. "I think he's morally unfit to be president", Mr Comey replied. Comey was sacked by Trump in May a year ago because of his investigation into "this Russian Federation thing with Trump and Russia".

By the way, it's worth noting that Trump's critics have a much more nuanced and realistic view of Comey.

The FBI chief was sacked while the agency was probing possible collusion between Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and Russia's meddling in the USA election.

Comey made the remark after ABC's George Stephanopoulos in their interview Sunday night said his forthcoming book had a "sense of alarm" about it. "So on the one hand you're inclined to like him automatically-or at least I am because I'm contrarian like that-but on the other hand, he's so self-aggrandizing and so self-righteous and such a moralizer that I think he really does a disservice to both himself and the institutions that he ostensively used to represent".

Comey also said that he doesn't know if some salacious accusations in a controversial dossier on Trump are true. Allen noted, Comey will likely repeat these statements to stay on message for his book tour, which means the president will be hammered by the message over and over again.

But Comey's measured response to Stephanopoulos' question about impeachment is one his devoted readers should adopt.
