A Sacramento County jury has convicted a 29-year-old man of 12 charges involving the sexual assault of of a child younger than 10.

Prosecutors said the woman had previously made it clear to Wilkin she was not interested in a sexual relationship with him. From there, police would then be able to do a formal investigation, Smyth said. The information will also be entered in a national database to track violent offenders.

She said third party reporting is firstly an important tool for survivors and secondly a tool for law enforcement.

Victims are now able to contact Klinic Community Health Centre, Sage House or Heart Medicine Lodge in Winnipeg to make a report.
