Prime Minister Modi to embark on three-nation Europe visit today

PM Modi will meet King Carl XVI Gustaf at the Royal Palace in the morning of April 17th, followed by bilateral talks with Löfven and roundtable discussions with the business leaders.

PM Modi will first travel to Sweden on a two-day visit from April 16-17. India and Sweden will also jointly organise the India-Nordic Summit in Stockholm.

Prime Minister Modi will then attend the India-Nordic Summit and Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Sweden.

On 18 April, the prime minister will hold a bilateral summit with his British counterpart Theresa May following which it is expected that several agreements will be signed.

The community event is scheduled to be held at the Stockholm University in the evening after which Prime Minister Modi will depart for London at around 8:30 p.m. (Sweden local time). Our partnership is based on democratic values and commitment to an open, inclusive and rule-based global order.

Modi would reach Britain on Wednesday.

Organisers said the decision to host a smaller event than the grand diaspora event at Wembley Stadium during PM Modi's last visit to the United Kingdom in November 2015 was to enable the Indian diaspora from across the world to be able to participate.
