Snapchat to start testing non-skippable advertisements next month

As Gizmodo reports, over 80 percent of current Snapchat users are feeling angry about the platform's new design.

The report says that Snapchat is now testing a redesign for a "small group of users" that returns user-generated Stories to the far-right Discover page.

Snapchat has confirmed plans for the test, though it didn't elaborate too far, only reassuring users that the non-skippable are not (yet) coming to Discover Stories or user Stories.

The company also told Recode that "with this test, we're retaining that idea [of separating friends and publishers], but bringing back one place for talking and one place for watching - organizing around users' behaviour, not just relationships".

Corey Anderson bowls shocking final over as Bangalore crash to IPL defeat
Chennai maintained their good record as they pulled off a thriller against Sunrisers in Hyderabad by just four runs. With five wins from six games, CSK are on top of the points table , tied on points with Kings XI Punjab.

The campaign is causing panic amongst Snapchat's users, many of whom have reported the messages to the company's Support account, asking if there's any truth in them. As you can see from the screenshot, while celebrity and user content will be united on the Discover page, they're still separated out in two different horizontal sliders.

The change feels like a compromise between the two previous versions of the app.

For brands and publishers, Snapchat will no doubt serve as a unique avenue for promoting their products and services, and there's reason to believe Snap Inc. will open up more of the app's elements to accommodate companies' various needs.

Even though it tried to ignore the petition and the criticism that surrounded the original change, a Snap spokesman said "We are always listening to our community". The company however gave very little indication that they will act on the outcry.
