England Coach Drops Joe Hart From World Cup Squad

England goalkeeper Joe Hart will not be going to the World Cup after Gareth Southgate left him out of his squad, BBC Sport has learned.

With rival English goalkeepers producing solid displays in the league this season, according to Sky Sports News, Hart has been informed that he will not be included in the England 23-man squad heading to Russian Federation this summer.

Early suggestions were that Southgate would opt for the experience of Hart over Pope, but it is now believed the former West Suffolk College student has won the battle to join Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland as the goalkeeping options.

England face Nigeria at Wembley and Costa Rica at Elland Road next month in friendlies before they travel to Russian Federation for their opener against Tunisia.

With 75 caps, Hart was expected to be the most experienced member of Southgate's travelling party, but his omission could leave England without a player boasting over 40 caps.

The teaser is short, but sweet, and shows a lot of promise for fans that have been waiting a very long time to see this movie. Mike Myers and Tom Hollander will also appear in the film.

Hart, 31, had been expected to travel to Russian Federation as third-choice keeper behind Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland despite his disappointing season on loan from Manchester City.

Everton's Jordan Pickford remains the favourite to be England's No.1 in Russian Federation. Joe has been our number one through the qualifying campaign and has performed really well.

We have also come off the back of two nil-nils against Brazil and Germany so in terms of our defence and our goalkeepers they have had as good performances as anybody in Europe up to this point. Three types of goalkeeper in as many ways - in terms of their experiences and styles.

"You are never settled as a coach".

"If I was Gareth Southgate I would sell this on youngsters", Lineker said. "I would play lots of these talented young players".
