Injured Payet ruled out of World Cup with France

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette have been left out of the France squad for this year's World Cup in Russian Federation.

The squad was announced on Thursday evening via the France Twitter handle.

Payet suffered hamstring injury and had to be replaced in the first half of Wednesday's Europa League final, where Marseille lost to Atletico Madrid 3-0.

Former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder Steven N'Zonzi is included, with the Sevilla player having made two France appearances, while former Newcastle forward Florian Thauvin and ex-Crystal Palace goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, who are both now at Marseille, also make the cut.

After returning from injury at the end of Manchester City's record-breaking Premier League title success, Benjamin Mendy has done enough to earn a place, although team-mate Aymeric Laporte - City's record signing - misses out.

In addition, perception can be influenced by multiple factors such as age, sex or native language of the listener, she explained. The Green Needle/Brainstorm auditory illusion has been popping up all over the web in the wake of the Laurel and Yanny trick.

Back on defensive line, left-back Benjamin Mendy was called up although he featured in few games for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

The regular names like Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud are, as expected, in the squad.

Deschamps has until June 4 before submitting his definitive squad list.

Without Payet, who played a key role at the 2016 Euro, France still can count on a group of attacking talents up front, spearheaded by Atletico star Antoine Griezmann. "I have put my faith in players who have responded to that, and the squad comes before everything else", Deschamps said.

For an exit in the playoffs of the world Cup team France, being one of the main favorites of the tournament, will compete with Australia, Peru and Denmark.
