OPPO unveils its sub-brand 'Realme 1' in India

Earlier this month, OPPO introduced a new online-exclusive smartphone brand called Realme in partnership with Amazon India. The top variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage is priced at Rs. 13,990. It will be available in Diamond Black, Moonlight Silver and Solar Red colour variants in the country. The smartphone is targetted for the younger audience that will be retailed exclusively via e-commerce giant - Amazon India.

The first sale of the device will be conducted on May 25, noon onwards.

The 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage respectively will be costing Rs 10990 and Rs 13990 respectively.

A third mid-range variant with 4 GB RAM/ 64 GB ROM will also be in the offing and will set one back INR 10,990. Also, the Realme has tied up with SBI bank to offer 5 per cent cashback. A free case and screen protector will be bundled in the box.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 6-inch full-HD+ display with a 1080x2160 pixels resolution. Under the hood is the 12nm MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G72 GPU. The inbuilt storage capacity of the device will be 32GB/64GB/128GB, depending on the variant.

As for storage, the Realme 1 comes with 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB of inbuilt storage, depending on the variant, each of which is expandable via microSD card featuring its own dedicated card slot. As of software, it runs on ColorOS 5.0, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. In addition to that, you can employ two 4G SIM cards simultaneously on the RealMe 1 thanks to the Dual 4G VoLTE support. The 3410mAh battery + AI battery management promise + the sharp AI processor which is also a master of temperature control, won't let longer and higher usage affect its performance.

Rear camera: The Realme 1 bears a 13-megapixel sensor on the rear with LED flash and the camera supports PDAF and bokeh mode.

The 13MP rear camera also features the AI Scene Recognition which can intelligently and accurately identify different scenes and objects in real-time to tune the ideal balance of brightness, exposure, color and contrast. Realme has borrowed Oppo's AI Beauty 2.0 functionality, which enables you to beautify the selfies with 296-point facial recognition.

While the smartphone doesn't come with a fingerprint sensor, it comes equipped with Face Unlock feature, which according to the company, can unlock the smartphone in just 0.1 seconds.
