Rapper TI arrested outside his gated community

Around 4 a.m., T.I. arrived at his gated community in Henry County, Georgia when he noticed that the security guard on post was sleep.

According to the Henry County Sheriff's Office, the rapper was detained around 6:00 a.m. and released on his own recognizance around 7:51 a.m.

As for the assault charge, T.I. says he "may have been hurt by my words", but says he never laid a hand on the guy. With the Police in attendance, T.I. reportedly asked the guard once again: "Don't you know who I am?" In an Instagram Live video, T.I. said he was "looking like yesterday" at a birthday party for his 10-year-old son, Major. He was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after his lawyer said the guard wrongfully refused entry to the community and called police after and argument.

The arrest occurred when the rapper attempted to gain entry into his housing community.

Sorry, Lando Isn't Getting His Own Star Wars Movie Just Yet
Solo: A Star Wars Story isn't even out yet, and talk about a spin-off featuring Donald Glover's character is already heating up. What Kennedy actually said was Lucasfilm would love to eventually make a Lando spin-off one day, but this is now not a priority.

According to reports, the incident went down a few hours ago when a guard wouldn't allow Tip into the neighborhood without his key. Meanwhile, the friend was arrested on an outstanding warrant. T.I. released a statement to The Blast after his release, saying the guard "antagonized" him after T.I. called him out for sleeping on the job. And in 2010, he and his wife were both arrested following a traffic stop after which cops smelled "a strong odor" of marijuana coming from his auto.

We're also told T.I. did NOT make physical contact with the security guard, but the guard feared he would be hit during the dispute.

An argument allegedly ensued as T.I. was joined by a friend. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification.

Sadow claims police did not want to hear from T.I.'s side and arrested his client.
