Salmonella outbreak linked to massive egg recall sickens almost three dozen people

Due to the interval between the time symptoms are first reported and the time the CDC gets more information from state and local officials, more cases are likely to be confirmed in the coming days.

The salmonella outbreak linked to eggs from Rose Acre Farms has worsened, with 12 more reported illnesses since the initial recall notice.

A Salmonella outbreak linked to a massive egg recall expanded last week when 12 more people reported contracting the foodborne illness after eating the popular breakfast food item. Eggs that started the outbreak were recalled in April due to possible contamination of bacteria. "Throw them away or return them to place of purchase for credit or refund". Another 22 people said they ate shelled eggs before contracting salmonella, the CDC reported. The eggs were sold under various brand names, including Coburn Farms, Country Daybreak and Crystal Farms. Most of the cases, including 11 people hospitalized, were reported in NY and Virginia. The outbreak has affected 35 people across nine states, including 11 people who have been hospitalized.

Egg cartons with the following numbers were impacted: P-1065 (the plant number) and numbers between 011 and 102.

Like with Wenger himself, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for European football. "I like that you have to get up early because no-one likes to get up early in the press", he said.

The eggs were distributed from a farm in Hyde County, North Carolina and reached consumers in the following states: Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia through retail stores and restaurants via direct delivery. This means from January 11 to April 12.

Rose Acre Farms in IN voluntarily recalled 206,749,248 eggs due to potential contamination with Salmonella Braenderup, the Food and Drug Administration said in a statement.

For Publix and Sunups egg cartons: Plant number P-1359D, with numbers 048A or 049A and best by dates of April 2 and 3. On April 16, Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. voluntarily recalled 23,400 dozen eggs purchased from Rose Acre Farms. It says that it has never experienced any problems with its North Carolina farm and that a recall was done in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
