Sorry, Lando Isn't Getting His Own Star Wars Movie Just Yet

Solo: A Star Wars Story isn't even out yet, and talk about a spin-off featuring Donald Glover's character is already heating up.

After its opening at Cannes Film Festival, it's looking like Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy has potential spin-offs in mind.

She added: 'Of course, there are still so many stories to tell about Han and Chewbacca but Lando will be next'.

Gizmodo explains that the original report from Premiere has been updated to reflect that Kathleen Kennedy believes a Lando spinoff could be in the cards. It is the second in a series of planned standalone "Star Wars" movies meant to exist outside the main trilogies.

What Kennedy actually said was Lucasfilm would love to eventually make a Lando spin-off one day, but this is now not a priority.

Without spoiling Solo: A Star Wars Story, there are a couple threads left dangling that could lead to possible sequels featuring Han Solo and Chewbacca.

While rumors about future standalone films are plentiful - including buzz about a Boba Fett film and an Obi-Wan Kenobi film - Disney/Lucasfilm has yet to confirm them.

However, shortly after the article was released executives from Lucasfilm said that the quote was inaccurate and a result of translation issues between the journalist and Kennedy.

What's great about Lando Calrissian is that there's still so much we don't know about him.

We receive a little taste of it within the Lando Marvel Comics series, which is second only to both Darth Vader run.

Meanwhile, there's also inspiration that can be drawn from a forthcoming Lando comic miniseries called Double or Nothing that features Donald Glover's likeness as Lando.
