# 07:10 AM: Voting underway for Panchayat Elections in West Bengal. However, the elections have been marred with instances of violence and allegations of booth capturing. According to a report, the voting began at 7am and will continue till 5pm. They also accused the ruling Trinamool for unleashing a reign of terror during the nomination process for the polls.

Statistics reveal that of the total 58,692 seats in the three tiers of rural local bodies, 20,076 seats or 34.2 per cent have already been decided uncontested, with the Trinamool bagging a whopping proportion of these seats.
