Michael Cohen expected to flip as attorneys leave case

As attorneys for Michael Cohen rush to meet Judge Kimba Wood's Friday deadline to complete a privilege review of over 3.7 million documents seized in the April 9 raids of Cohen's NY properties and law office, a source representing this matter has disclosed to ABC News that the law firm handling the case for Cohen is not expected to represent him going forward.

Both ABC and The Wall Street Journal reported Weednesday that the firm will cease representing Cohen after a review of the documents seized has been completed.

On Wednesday, ABC News and other outlets reported that Cohen was expected to lose legal representation.

After FBI agents raided Cohen's office in April, Ryan and his NY partner, Todd Harrison, went to court to try to keep investigators from seeing some of the confiscated files on the grounds that they were protected by attorney client privilege.

Cohen is reportedly telling associates he expects to be arrested "any day now".

The firm's spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Unconfirmed reports also said that Cohen is likely to become a witness for the prosecution in a case against President Donald Trump.

The seizure of those documents led Trump to declare "Attorney-Client privilege is dead!"

"Not a good look and a disaster for Mr. Cohen and Mr. Trump", he said. There's no indication yet, that Cohen is in fact preparing to cooperate with the special counsel.

Sources told ABC News that Cohen could "cooperate with federal investigators" as his attorneys jump ship and said the decision to cooperate "is believed to be imminent".

"If anyone can blow up Trump, it's him", an unnamed White House official told Vanity Fair. The issue is primarily over payment of the legal bills of one of his lawyers, Stephen Ryan, according to a person familiar with the discussions.
