The International House of Burgers

The International House of Burgers

The answer to the question "what does the "B" stand for?" was revealed on Monday morning - burgers.

"IHOP changed their name to IHOB for BURGERS, Nobody asked for this", one user wrote.

The American chain teased the change June 4 on Twitter, saying "For 60 pancakin' years, we've been IHOP".

If you happen to be a fan of the International House of Pancakes (better known as IHOP) and follow the breakfast chain on social media, you're well aware that it's been hyping a name change. "Can't wait to try a burger from the place that decided pancakes were too hard", the fast-food chain tweeted in response to the news.

In an avid marketing attempt, it turns out, IHOP is not actually changing its name permanently. The pancake house is now selling what it calls "Ultimate Steakburgers" - a menu item so monumental, it seems, that it warranted a name change "for the time being", the company said in a statement. In fact, if IHOb isn't putting a burger between two fluffy buttermilk pancakes, it's missing out on a golden marketing opportunity.

Just a year before his passing, Boyd and his mother, Esther, were in a major auto accident after he blacked out behind the wheel. Piers said: "You know Neal , as you began to sing, I think the whole audience felt electricity on the stage".

Just last week, the world was overcome by one of the greatest mysteries of the modern generation: What does the "B" stand for? The temporary shift is turning out to be an effective publicity stunt aimed at advertising the restaurant's new burger menu.

The "burgers" name change leaked Saturday when a Business Insider reporter visited a restaurant and saw a sign that mentioned the name switch. "But we want to convey that we are taking our burgers as seriously as our pancakes".

"Dear internet thanks to everyone asking me this but no not every brand is having an identity crisis so I'm gonna stick to Pop-Tarts", their tweet said.

Naturally, other restaurants and brands also had some fun at IHOb's expense.
