Watch Painfully Shy 13-Year-Old Singer Slay On ‘America’s Got Talent’

When she came out on stage, Courtney seemed really shy but when she let rip, her vocals amazed the panel and judge Howie Mandel hit the famous golden buzzer putting her straight through to the live show.

"Bloody hell, Courtney", Simon Cowell said.

She tweeted her thanks Tuesday night.

After appearing nervous on stage, Courtney Hadwin performed an energetic rendition of Hard to Handle by Otis Redding, later covered by the Black Crowes.

When the song ended she got a standing ovation, much to her dad's delight, who was watching with host Tyra Banks from backstage. "And then you sing, and you're like a lion", Cowell marveled. Howie Mandel told Courtney a story about Clive Davis discovering Janis Joplin.

Before coming to 'America's Got Talent, ' Hadwin previously competed on 'The Voice Kids UK, ' where she made it to the final rounds of competition.

Courtney competed in The Voice Kids UK past year but missed out on the top prize.
